| L1 and L2 |
L1 is the primary L band signal radiated by each NAVSTAR
satellite at 1575.42 Mhz. The L1 signal is modulated to transmit
the civilian C/A code, military P codes and the NAV message.
L2 has a frequency of 1227.60 Mhz and is modulated with the
military P code and the NAV message.
|
| Lane |
The area (or volume) enclosed by adjacent lines (or surfaces)
of zero phase of either the carrier beat phase signal or the
difference between two carrier phase signals. The combination
of L1 and L2 can be configure as Wide lane 86cm or narrow lane
9 cm. |
| L-band |
The group of radio frequencies extending from 390 MHz to
1550 MHz. The GPS carrier frequencies (1227.6 MHz and 1575.42
MHz) are in the L-band. |
| Laser
Scanning |
The process of using a laser to measure the distance and
bearing to multiple positions in a grid pattern. The result
is a point cloud that is a three dimensional representation
of all of the objects and surfaces that reflected the laser
light beam. |
